Halloween Slime

Tickled Pink
Another Countdown to Halloween sensory play!  This was my first time making slime (shocking, I know) and it was so easy to do we will be making more of it again soon!
Halloween Slime recipe

Slime Recipe:
1 cup white school glue (two bottles of Elmer's white school glue is approximately 1 cup)
3/4 cups warm water
A few drops of food coloring (we mixed red and blue to get purple)
1 tsp of glitter (optional.  But why not?!)
1.2 cup hot water
3/4 teaspoons Borax

Plastic spider rings (optional.  Found at Target in the Halloween section)

1. In a large bowl combine first 4 ingredients until smooth.
2. In a measuring cup dissolve Borax with hot water
3. Slowly add Borax mixture to glue mixture stirring to combine
4. Using your hands, knead and squeeze to transform the lumpy mixture into a slimy texture.  It comes together very fast, under 5 minutes.  Have fun!

Kinsey had a blast playing in this slime.  She lasted longer than I had anticipated actually! There is something to be said for sensory activities around here, they usually always last 5 times longer than planned for and encourage great imaginative play as well.

  1. I need to reference this, this winter we've been stuck in doors for too many days and need something new to do. Connor loves Flarp so I know he would enjoy this, too!

  3. This is so much easier to put together than I thought! I'm going to have to hunt down those items! I feel like this would be a great afternoon activity when we are desperate for something new to do while we count down the minutes until Scott gets home. :)
