Our visit to California's Great America {Summer's last hurrah}

Last Friday we had our last summer hurrah and headed North to spend the day at California's Great America, thanks to US Family GuideI'll spare you the details if the long drive there- traffic and extreme heat makes me crazy. But once we parked and lathered on sunblock we were ready to play!
Kinsey is the biggest daredevil and loves all rides, which makes Brian nervous so we had a wonderful mommy- daughter day, just the two of us while Brian and Brielana hung out together.
We headed straight for Snoopy Planet and my word! Our Peanuts Gang- loving hearts were in heaven!  Our first stop was to eat at Peanuts Gallery and the serving sizes are huge! We also got to watch some Classic Peanuts cartoons which Brielana really enjoyed.
After we were fueled we did a little souvenir shopping and then got to meet Charlie Brown!
This was probably Kinsey's first experience with characters (her first Disneyland trip at 2.5 she side eyed Alice in Wonderland and we didn't bother to try again lol) They high fived, hugged, posed and then two seconds after we walked away Kinsey said, "well, that was awkward!" The girl is hilarious!!
Yup, just about sums it up ;)
We went on every ride in Planet Snoopy and did both the roller coasters (Lucy's Crabbie Cabbies and Woodstock Express) twice. Well,she coerced Brian to ride Woodstock Express with her, so three times there. I love all the coasters and rides but I'm thinking I'm getting old because my back and shoulders have been sore for days and those were only the kiddie rides, aye yi yi ;)
And of course we had a couple of snacks. This blue Icee really hit the spot!
Sharing with Snoopy
We ended our visit with a girls ride on the carousel and Brielana cheesed like this the entire ride:
My independent first born
It was such a fun family day and really ended summer vacation for us on a high note!

  5. SO fun!!! I used to love Great America when I was growing up in Northern California. I didn't realize that there was a Snoopy land though? That must be new. Or maybe I'm just thinking of Six Flags here? I have no clue! LOL. Either way it sounds like a super fun day for all of you!!! Well maybe minus Brian and then roller coaster riding. Ha!

  8. SO FUN!! Marcus would FLIP over all the Peanuts characters, that is literally the only movie he'll sit down and fully watch.
