Getting to know you

The last three weeks with Clark have been a blur (and I'm sure that has nothing to do with lack of sleep, harhar) In those days and nights I have gleaned some important information about this little person I brought into the world. Lessons learned:

Crying because its time to eat. Crying when a new diaper is needed. Crying when tired. Crying when overtired. Clark seems to be a crier. This threw me for a loop. But I'm so relieved to report that the crying is now down to the necessities like eating and a full diaper.

Bath time is enjoyable. First of my kids to actually like reclining in the warm water and having his hair washed.

That it is indeed possible to fill a diaper every time you pass gas. This trait was most definitely inherited from the other man in this family ;)

Nursing is his favorite past-time. I guess that's to be expected I've just never had a baby gain weight so fast!

This boy LOVES to nap. Like his mama. Once we can sleep through the night (and you know how elusive that is for my kids here) we will be a force to be reckoned with. On the weekends ;)
Getting to know you

Swings and sitting things hold no appeal. But lounging in the Solly gets the seal of approval.
Getting to know you
The carseat is a love/hate relationship. As is the pacifier.
Getting to know you
A big dislike? Nail clippers/file. Though to be honest I hate using them so maybe its the users problem(?) Tiny nails are so very hard to see how to cut properly, amiright?
Getting to know you
Diaper changes are a strange endeavor with a little boy. Clark has peed into his face several times already. I thought he was dying the first few days at home because he didn't have any pee diapers. Then I realized he was peeing up into the diaper and not down, like his sisters. #rookieboymom

But I think my favorite lesson of all is knowing I have a lifetime of loving him.

  3. This is great! It's fun learning about who our new little people are :) The thing Finn hates most is being cold!

  4. In the first few weeks of life with Marcus our walls had been peed on more times that I could count. HA!
It's so interesting to see what babies prefer. Marcus was all about the swing, forget being in a wrap. But Julia took exactly zero interest in the swing and wanted to be in the Solly every. single. minute.
I can't wait to learn more about this sweet little boy!!

  5. Mason HAAAAAAATED getting his nails cut for SO LONG. Like the finger nails were only ok but the toe nails? Forget about it. It was like you were torturing him. I'm glad to report that within the last year though he has become SO much better. I'm not sure if it's due to sensory issues or what, but I just bribe with the iPad and he fully sits still now. Not to scare you into thinking it'll take 4 years for him to like getting his nails cut, but just to let you know that you're not alone ;) xo

  6. Oh my word. This is so sweet! There is nothing in this world like a mama getting to know her new baby love. That last quote – all the yes! The mother – son bond is so special!

  7. These photos are amazing!!! What a blessing he is. Glad to hear things are going so well. Cam never peed on me, but he pooped on me once. Emmy peed on me more than once. Amazing how different then can be with just about everything. Ha ha!

  8. What a sweetheart! Those tiny fingers and little pout, he's just perfect. Ez and Declan hated car seats and swings too, and they nursed constantly and were only happy being held. Baby boys just love their mamas.
