Watching// Nothing of my choosing haha. Kinsey has been wanting to watch Goosebumps and its actually very entertaining!
Reading//The Secret Keeper: A Novel by Kate Morton. After Stephanie's rave review I was so excited to see this book in my Free Little Library! The only reason I haven't finished it yet is time; I've been setting up my classroom and battling a killer cold so, no time for leisure. I will say that Morton has a fantastic writing style and that the story goes between the present day (2011) and 1941 seamlessly.
Dreaming of// All things Fall.
Eating// Homemade chicken noodle soup and Cold Chaser pill packs and a steady dose of Dayquil.
Going//  Back to work!
Loving// That the transition has been smooth. Brielana has been so good for Brian and my mom, it really makes my work life easier.
Planning// With two different school schedules to work with, it's been interesting mapping out this year on the calendar.
Pinning// Classroom decor ideas.
Praying// For good health (I really take that one for granted.) For my Papa's continued improvement from his stroke.
Texting// Kinsey's teacher #RoomMomLife ;)
Wearing// Give me ALL the stripes!
Trying// To meal plan. Again.
Hoping// For a great school year, for Kinsey and myself.
Decorating// My Preschool classroom has gotten the most attention this past week. It's taken me a bit longer to set it up (I guess two years out of the loop really has taken it's toll lol) but it's been fun. But tiring.
To-do listing// I still have a few things I want to do in my classroom, the top item being getting some green plants. As odd as that sounds, greenery really adds a soothing and natural vibe.

Fall Favorites

Oh Fall. What isn't wonderful about Fall? The clothes. The scents. The scenery. The weather (give me 60 F and layers and I'm in my element.) Here are what make this season the best in my book.
Fall Favorites

This throw looks so comfy and cozy! Just imagine being snuggled underneath it watching a movie.

How cute is this sign?!

I've been wanting to expand my mug collection and this little owl (which comes in a two-set) just stole my heart.

Scarves are the ultimate fall accessory! This lace and tassel one is so feminine and delicate! And gray is a great neutral for the season.

I love my Kilty moccasins and I admit that I wear them year-round, but they are absolute perfection for Fall! My friend just bought these over the knee boots and oh my word, they are d-a-r-l-i-n-g!

Need something hot and steamy inside your mug? My favorite chai is this ready made mix, just add milk (or milk alternative ;)

And of course, I forgot to add this plaid top to my collage but it's too cute to leave off (I actually just bought this take a look at those fantastic colors!)

What are your favorite things about Fall?

Rewind Friday // Back to the Classroom

Welcome to Rewind Friday link up #4! So glad your'e joining us! Friends, I just finished my first week back in the classroom! Granted, I didn't have my students in there yet, it has still been a whirlwind experience! In preparation of me going back to the classroom I'm sharing two posts for this month's Rewind Friday.
First up is the ABCs of  Preschool. I shared this last year before back to school and it is all the things that make Preschool special and near and dear to my heart!

A alphabet:  A big part of preschool is exposure to the alphabet.  This may look different depending on the age of your child but in my classroom (2.5- young 4) we start letter recognition by using the child's name; it's personal so it's important to the child and it's not too long.

art:  art is a huge learning opportunity.  It's sensory, visual, creative and there is no wrong way to do it!

B boundaries: being in a room full of children, you quickly learn about boundaries.  Be it personal boundaries (sitting too close to someone, or talking to loudly) to physical boundaries (no hitting), boundaries keep us safe and comfortable.

C circle time: one of my favorite things to do with my student is have circle time.  We sing songs, have discussions, play games and do yoga stretches.  It's our chance to come together as a group and share the same experience.

And the second is all about my Favorite Teacher Supplies: because being unprepared is my worst nightmare. {Read more here}

Tackling toy rotation with Pley {a review}

Remember how I've been wanting to reign in all our toy clutter and start a toy rotation system? And also remember how it's been s-l-o-w-g-o-i-n-g, haha. Well, I've finally found a solution and it is a GENIUS one! Enter Pley: the subscription service for toys! Affiliate links used. A small commission may be received if you purchase an item through my links. Thank you for supporting my blog!
How does Pley work? you ask. Well, you can choose from their database of 500+ toys by age/experience level, have it sent directly to your door, play with it for as long as you like and then send it back for a new toy on your Pleylist! Easy peasy! Can you just imagine the savings and reduced toy clutter?!
Pley was kind enough to let Kinsey and Brielana try a toy for themselves for a month and let me tell you, they LOVED the Magformers set I picked out! Magnets are always a big hit but add in the moving gear function and the girls were mesmerized. Of course, there was always ONE piece they both wanted at the same time, naturally. We built the pictured configuration and then Kinsey used the pieces as walls at her castle. Brielana was captivated by the triangles so all was good in the world.
At $12.99 a month, you just can't go wrong. Do yourself and your children a favor and try out Pley today!
