Star Spangled Kids 2017

Welcome to Star Spangled Kids 2017! I am honored to be co-hosting again this year (check out last years post for a fun flashback) and find that I look forward to this summer holiday for two reasons:

1) Brielana shares her birthday with Independence Day (Happy 3rd Birthday, B!)

2) patriotic clothing is just stinking adorable.

Ok and I love BBQ and fireworks so lets round to a good four reasons, mmmkay? ;)

I went big this year and purchased the girls play dresses from my favorite kids apparel June & January. **If you want to get 15% off your first June & January order of $50 or more please use my referral code!** And threw in the American flag for good measure.

And no worries, that flag never touched the ground #respect.

July Festivities {The Picture Perfect Project #7}

This Picture Perfect Project is also going to be a Birthday/4th of July recap of sorts. All these pictures were taken on Independence day AKA Brielana's birthday except two but they are so darling I had to include them in this month's collage (they happen to be wearing patriotic clothes so it's still totally fitting.) 

Brielana had such a fun day celebrating her second birthday; it was filled with lots of sugar and family and ended with fireworks. I call that a special day indeed.

I made another sign keeping with last years picture-with-a-sign trend which you can see here.

This picture is all kinds of wonderful in my book. 

I was bound and determined to get a good fireworks shot this year.

Brielana insisted on wearing all her new clothes from her Auntie and cousins at the same time. I call this layered look "Bag Lady chic" but she pulls it off well ;)

I only realized after editing all of these that not a single picture is Brielana looking at the camera, ha! 

That is July! A special month for a special little lady.

Happy Birthday, Brielana! {Red, White and 2}

Brielana Kennedy,

You are my little sweetie pie. You wear your heart on your sleeve and feel things deeply. You let us know when your feelings are hurt and can be heard saying "mean!" when things don't go your way. But you're also rough, tough and tumble and are the biggest daredevil; so I like to think it all evens out.

I'm not sure how we got to your second birthday so quickly. I blinked and you were a toddler. "Me do it" and "By myself" are heard a lot too. Thank goodness you're such a cuddle bug otherwise I would be lost.

You adore your big sister and want to do everything that Kiki does. Even if she doesn't really appreciate the adoration so much now, she will when you're older. Seeing you two together is one of the biggest blessings I have ever been given and it will never cease to amaze me.

You love all things girly; wearing dresses, brushing your hair (and others) naming colors (even if you mix them up) and pointing out "Stella's" and "gatos". Holes of any kind fascinate you and you're now starting to describe things using adjectives, "big hole" which actually reads kinda gross but is really cute in person.

You're my star eater, less-than-stellar sleeper, and my hand holder. Happy 2nd Birthday, darling. We love you.

That, my friends, is a marshmallow! Ha!

Star Spangled Kids 2016

I have been waiting for this day for half a year now. Last year when Liz announced the Star Spangled Kids link up I was so excited to celebrate our country AND Brielana's 1st birthday. This year I get to co-host. Just pinch me.

Be prepared for some red, white and blue overload. Like I said before, we take our patriotic clothing pretty seriously around here ;)
