Gallery Wall update with Photowall + discount code!

This post is sponsored by Photowall. As always my opinion is completely my own. Affiliate links used. A small commission may be received if you purchase an item through my links. Thank you for supporting my blog!

I haven't updated our gallery wall in four years. Have I thought about it? Occasionally. But I'm also of the mind of, if its not broke, don't fix it. On the other hand, I also like having choices so that's where Photowall  comes in handy!

Maternity + Family pictures 2021

This will possibly come as a shocker but we have never had professional family pictures taken before. My mom was our Christmas card photog back home and I do everything else so this was quite the experience! Aunt Cindy gifted us this session with the lovely Rifka of Rifka Jensen Photography.

Picture Perfect gifts with Mpix

How are we only a few days away from Christmas?! I'm shocked but feeling prepared, which is another shocker. Can I confess something? I’m a last minute shopper. Gasp! I know it seems unlikely considering how Type A I am but that's just how I roll. But not this year! Thank you to Mpix for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.

Nope, this year I have all our gifts purchased, wrapped and ready to go! Why is this year different? I outsourced! (This was a MUST having a baby and all.) And I went for heartfelt with photo gifts!

I was recently introduced to Mpix earlier this year and I have to say I am so glad I was! The quality is great, the turnaround time was less than a week and the prints were packaged securely so no bent edges or scratches.

I went for 8x10 and 5x7 mounted enlargements, two with the canvas finish. I also had 2 metal ornaments made but those I kept for myself ;) I know our family members who are receiving these prints will love them. After all, a picture is worth 1,000 words. With a wide range of products including super cool wooden prints and fun 3D statuettes that were seriously calling to me, you will surely find the perfect gift!

The Finale {Picture Perfect Project #10}

This is a bittersweet post as this is the last link up for The Picture Perfect Project. When Beth first shared her concept for the link up I was so excited to be a part of it and the amazing group of women behind it. They are truly some of my favorite bloggers ever and it has been an awesome collaboration. But with all good things there comes an end.

So, this will be a little different. Instead of sharing our monthly pictures (which seem to get harder and harder to take, thanks to Brielana and her "no" phase insert eye roll emoji) I'm sharing the whole collection of my Picture Perfect Project journey; ten months of glorious girl pictures!
The Picture Perfect Project finale
I thought I had everything so uniform but turns out every month varies slightly and that kinda makes me cringe. But then I realize, that's life; no two days are alike and they add up to the months and years that we cherish, flaws and all.

A few things I learned doing this Project:

1.
I have loved using the Manual app and getting to control the settings. BUT with the new iPhone update it has taken some of the functionality away from the App (update coming soon, I hope!) and with the same said update has given iPhoto better quality pictures so I find I'm starting to use that more and Manual less. Enter my desire for a big girl camera, tenfold.
2.
Editing is a serious asset. As much as it is time consuming playing around with all the settings and finding the right combination for you and your style, it is worth it

3.
Taking time to photograph my girls has been a blessing. Making that conscious effort and documenting their growth has been so fun! Capturing their personalities on film is a treasure. And I won't be stopping that documentation just how I'll be sharing them :)

4.
Bloggers make for some great friends. Need I say more? :)

Goodbye Summer {The Picture Perfect Project #9}

I was ready to say goodbye to summer last month, just because we were back in school and all that, but our weather has different ideas! I know we are beyond blessed to live in such a beautiful and steady-climate area but (you knew there was a"but", right?) living without differentiating seasons can be a bit of a downer. However, being able to spend year-round at our neighborhood park kinda is awesome, too!

Kinsey has been werking it with her poses. She cracks me up!

I like to call this "the mermaid" ;)

Just look at those eyes. She may be going through a "don't look straight at mom when she has her phone pointed at me" phase, but these candid pictures are just so beautiful. I know I'm biased but with her big eyes and rosebud mouth I get to do some bragging :) #Imadethat

How manic does she look here?!

Basically, Monkey See, Monkey Do with these two.

I took about ten pictures of the girls on this defunct water fountain (fun fact: its twin is located at Dennis the Menace Park!) but this one just showed Brielana's personality.

I've been testing out a new picture editing App (PhotoShop Express) since it's free but I'm not 100% sold on it. My heart still beats for Afterlight but I thought it'd be fun to compare the original to Afterlight to PS Express. Which do you prefer?

August {The Picture Perfect Project #8 }

Oh man our summer vacation went by way tooooo fast! Sharing our last fleeting days of carefree living.

{Photographs}
These leaves fall off the imitation weeping willow that hangs over the driveway and Kinsey loves throwing it up into the air (I refer to it was "nature's confetti", haha) So she was about to have a celebration before I stopped her to take a picture. Guess she wasn't too thrilled?

Ignore those crackers in her mouth. This girl loves her snacks!

Look at that pose! Just slay me.
 AP 2.2 ISO 25 S 1/205
I adore these hydrangeas bushes in the front yard so I had to take advantage of this gorgeous backdrop (this top picture was actually taken in July, so a bit of a comp shot if you will ;)
