I'm trying to not use our oven as often since it makes the house unbearably hot so I've had to get creative with dinners. We've been enjoying salads and fresh garden flavors, like my Gramma's salsa {recipe coming Monday!}

I've been reaching for my phone less and my Canon more and hoping it gets me feeling more inspired. Anyone else in a slump?

About my Pilates journey. If you've been around here for any length of time, you know I'm not one for consistent physical exercise. You also know my fondness for The Balanced Life and Robin's approach to movement. When she offered a discount to try her membership program I jumped all in. It's been a little over two months and I am feeling so at home in my body. I've had hardly any back pain and some of those quarantine pounds have been displaced. I honestly can't praise the process enough. I am honored to offer you $20 off your first month of The Sisterhood (you only pay $5!) I hope to see you there :)

Some new essential oil DIYs. After getting beat up by the bugs (which isn't new but still horrible) I ordered some Plant Therapy Citronella. I also purchased Rosemary to help with hair growth, I swear I've been losing more hair lately and it's freaking me out.
Wondering |
What school will look like this fall. We have gotten the guidelines for how the district is handling safety precautions and we are not pleased. For sure we're doing virtual education but I'm sorta kinda leaning towards homeschooling. I've been researching the Charlotte Mason style of teaching and I'm just praying over what's to be. Any words of wisdom would be so appreciated!
I have decided to homeschool in the fall and I just attended a week long virtual conference all about the Charlotte Mason method! I have to say, I am in love with it! Feel free to email me crackercrumblife@gmail.com if you want. I am still in the gathering information stages but I have found some good resources. :)
ReplyDeleteHow did that Citronella oil work? Bugs are my enemy (much like the sun) and have wondered if this oil really helps?!?!
ReplyDeleteOh man I can hardly think about school yet... still waiting to hear what our district's plan will look like, but worried that we will not feel comfortable sending our kid to school - but also not comfortable with the idea of official homeschooling, given that I also need to work! Wah. Wishing you the best as you figure out the right approach for your family.
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for feeling good in your body! I got those feels when I started doing yoga very regularly - even just 15 minute videos daily makes my body feel so good and I love it :)
I had to chuckle that your 'wondering' was the same as mine. I think so many parents are wondering and worrying about what the fall will bring. My own babies just graduated high school. They started Online charter school in middle school. Come fall I have a foster child entering public school and being that they are a dependant of the state and not me I have no choice to opt out of virtual learning and going for homeschooling. I did it for a year with my twins. I'm really worried about what school will look like for her. My daughter who just graduated will be doing online college but that was the plan even before Covid.
