The numbers are in! My Year in Books for 2022 was 42 total books read! I had pledged to read 30 titles and hit that goal back in the summer. Anything after that was just the cherry on top!
Of those 42 books, I gave the following star ratings:
⭐️: 1
⭐️⭐️: 6
⭐️⭐️⭐️: 7
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: 15
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: 12
And one book I didn't rate because it was more of a special interest book vs a novel. For full disclosure, I loved it.
These were my 5-star winners. Highly recommend!
The Summer Place by Jennifer Weiner
The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak
The Star-Crossed Sisters of Tuscany by Lori Nelson Spielman
The Clockmakers Daughter by Kate Morton
The Book of Magic by Alice Hoffman
The Making of Us by Lisa Jewell
If You Ask Me by Betty White
A Hundred Summers by Beatriz Williams
The Good Sister by Sally Hepworth
I Must Betray You by Ruta Sepetys
The Curious Charms of Alfred Pepper by Phaedra Patrick
In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren
DNF:
I actually stopped reading a couple of books because they were getting on my nerves. I can only tolerate so much character discrepancies or poor writing. My reading time is valuable and I can't mess around with "bad" books. And this is even more "telling", I cannot for the life of me even remember what books I dropped. Unmemorable in every way, ha.
Because I know my opinions are subjective, I share these lightly and only as a way to keep track of my reading habits. BUT if you want to persuade me otherwise, I'm open to a book discussion any time!
Have you read any good books lately? I'm always looking to add to my Want to Read shelf!
