Welcome to the first What We're Reading Wednesday link up!
Last year was an "off year" for me as far as reading goes. I'm a proud bookworm and seeing that I only read 19 out of the 30 of my projected titles makes me sad. Affiliate links used. A small commission may be received if you purchase an item through my links. Thank you for supporting my blog!
But let's back up to 2015 real quick to get some perspective. This was the year I discovered GoodReads and it rocked my world haha. I gave myself a two- books a month quota (24 books total) and read 36! So I may have been a little cocky going into 2016 and my projected 30 titles.
But now that its 2017 I'm learning from the past and getting back to reality. I'm setting my goal for 18 books and I'm sharing a few that are on my shelf just waiting to be opened! I'm actually ahead by one as I finished reading Room on Sunday!
Home: A Memoir of My Early Yearsby Julie Andrews / Seabiscuit: An American Legend by Laura Hildebrand / The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot
A Map of the World: A Novel by Jane Hamilton / Somerset by Laila Meacham/ Stern Men by Elizabeth Gilbert / Pigs in Heaven: A Novel by Barbara Kingsolver / The Martian by Andy Weir / A Room with a View E.M Forester/ Darcy's Story by Janet Aylmer / The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
And there it is, folks! My rag-tag group of books sitting on my shelf. I just started The Nightingale and I have to say it feels good being back at it. Looking forward to reading about your favorite new books and authors!
Love this list- I am excited to get to the library!
ReplyDeleteYou're off to a good start! I would love to get back to reading like 1 book a month - I think I'm going to make it a goal for 2017 now that I think about it. :)
ReplyDeleteI am going to add Stern Men to my list of books to read now! I thought The Nightingale was fabulous.
ReplyDeleteGood start! My goal would look like this, try and read 2 books this year...pathetic I know. Since I love reading, too much to do to read, unfortunately. When the kids are older I keep telling myself.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear what you think about these books! I am committing to reading more this year! I love books.
ReplyDeleteI want to read The Martian but I'm afraid it will be to intense, you'll have to let me know how you like it!
ReplyDeleteReading is my jam. I read every night when I lay down in bed. It's such a big part of my nightly routine. I would much rather snuggle in with a book than watch tv. :) You will read more books this year. I just know it.
ReplyDeleteYou go girl! Even if you read only 1 book last year, you beat me. And it's not that I don't WANT to read, because I clearly like reading blogs, but I just don't have time with work, family, blogging, and all that I want to do to do that too. Maybe I should set a goal of ONE book for myself this year and if I accomplish that, I would be proud!
ReplyDeleteYou read some awesome books! Some of my favorites are on this list.
ReplyDeleteGoodreads really is the best way to keep track of your books and find new ones! I love your mix of fiction and non-fiction . The Martian is the only one I've read, but it was one of my favorite books I read in 2015!
