Goodbye Nap Time

Remember when I was gushing about making memories about nap time here?  Well, those sweet days are over my friends.  That's right, Kinsey has dropped her nap.  Three years 10 months.  That is how long I was able to enjoy naps, too.  To say I'm upset is an understatement.  I relied on, nay, based my sanity on those mid-day naps and they have now gone the way of the Dodo Bird.

How did this happen?!

I blame Daddy's day off's for wrecking a great routine.  There was no way she would nap when he was in the house.

I blame play dates that went a little too long.  Forget the benefits of social interactions and fresh air.

I blame the baby for not cooperating and napping on her schedule not mine.

I blame growing up too fast.

Ok, ok the first three are not factors at all.  We love spending Family Time together.  We enjoy our friends.  We have the perfect Baby and no way blame her for anything.  But the growing up too fast?  Now that is the culprit.

I know these things happen naturally and everyone has their own time frame.  I'm lucky that she lasted this long.  Especially since I have a friend whose son dropped his before the age of 3.  The horror.

So now that this is our new reality, I have to up my afternoon game.  Quiet time boxes for sure.  And an acceptance and attitude adjustment on my part.  Did I mention I functioned on these naps?!

Teething/Not teething

I am so confused- Brielana is definitely displaying signs of teething:

  • Excessive drooling
  • Fussiness
  • Gnawing on everything
  • More frequent bowel movements
  • Puffy gums
  • Poor night sleeping
  • Extra nursing sessions

{With the exception of no visible teeth!}

I feel like I'm losing my marbles. Brian just said the other day, "You've been saying she's teething for 6 months and she's only 5 months old." Har har.

But seriously, if it isn't teething, then what is it?!

Growth spurt? Maybe just the tooth buds making their way up? What?!

Anyone else experiencing this phenomenon?  It's the waiting game that drives me crazy!  The suspense is killing me.
