Four Months

How old: 4 months
Weight:  12.9 pounds {up 5 pounds and 9 ounces.}
Length:  24.75 inches {up 5.75 inches}
Baby clothes: 3-6, 6 months size
Diaper size: Size 1
Sleep: Still has her 3 am feeding.  She has a morning nap, a long mid day nap and a mini nap at night a few hours before bed time.
Feeding: Every 4 hours.
Likes: Sucking on her fingers- no paci here and sticking out her tongue (see photo on right).  Watching her sister play.  Being read to.
Dislikes: Teething?!  I know its early, but I swear she's beginning to feel those teeth buds move.  We had our first bout of illness- a low grade fever (peaked at 100.8) and a slight reddening of the throat.  That was 2 days ago and I'm still scarred by the frequent night nursings and painful baby cries.  I definitely take for granted what a great sleeper she is!
Milestones:  Grabbing at objects and grasping them.  She can tolerate Tummy Time for greater stretches of time.  She is very social and loves to smile at everyone (the little flirt ;)  She is pure joy.

I love these sister pictures, they sum up the girl's relationship perfectly; Kinsey is very protective over Brielana (top) and Brielana adores her big sister and always grabs at her and touches her (bottom).  Makes my Mommy heart swell.

This well baby check up found us at a new Pediatrician's office.  Apparently, we were out of network at our old Ped's and was charged well over $1,000(!!!) for 2 month old shots, much to our horror.  I loved our former Pediatrician; he was mine and I saw him up until the age of 17, so suffice it to say, I am heartbroken to have to leave his practice.  But I find a little consolation that our new Ped is wonderful and sweet and Kinsey likes her, so that was the golden seal of approval.  The office is clean and new and the staff are friendly and efficient.  A bittersweet situation all around.

What Kinsey Wore: purple Vans

I scored big at my favorite Children's Consignment shop this past week.  I go every month to turn in items (15) and have a "running tab" of credit from my items that others have purchased.  I get 40% of all sales and never have to spend actual money when stocking up for the girls.  Its like a little bit of Christmas every visit!  This trip turned up said purple Vans and this darling top! (Crazy we can still wear stuff like this in October!)
Clothing sizes range from premie to size 14 and there are also shoes, toys, games/puzzles, furniture and acessories.  When I'm browsing, Kinsey is playing.  The owner even calls me by name, she is awesome!  A+ for customer service!

Top: Gymboree, thrifted
Pants: Old Navy
Shoes: Vans (similar), thrifted

The Pinterest {Closet} Project

This is the first time linking up with Sheaffer at Pinterest Told Me To for Pin-Spired and I am jazzed!  I've said it many times, but Sheaffer is awesome and was this blogs very first comment-er.  So needless to say, she has a special place in my heart (and I've said that before too. Ha)

So, why am I just now linking up?  Well, as a newly minted SAHM, I have found myself in a bind- wanting to buy a million and one things and not having the funds to do so.  It was much easier having two incomes and justifying I "needed" something and just buying it, than having one income and prioritizing needs versus wants.  And nowhere is a shopping trip a NEED.  But, in utilizing Pinterest I hope to shop my closet 1) smarter and 2) more creatively.  Because there are all kinds of fashion geniuses uploading outfit combos I never even knew worked together (thank you, fashion mavens!)  And maybe secretly I want to be voted the best dressed SAHM in my circle ;)

Here is my pin-spiration:
Sheaffer highlighted this look last year {I'm just a little late...}
(but sadly, original blog post is no longer available.)

I loved everything about this look and totally lucked out because I had all the elements already, no shopping trip required.  And since that's the whole point of my Pinterest Closet Project, I'd say I'm already batting .500!  Yay me!
My plaid tunic is Gap circa 2010(!!!), gray jeggings from Old Navy (purchased 2 months ago and only available is Plus sizes) layering tank is Old Navy Maternity (haha I'm telling you this for total transparency.  Actually, I really like the length of maternity tanks because I have a longer torso and it seems to even me out.  Plus, I did just give birth only 4 months ago.) OTK boots from Delia*s last summer.  I wish I was into super-accessorizing, but give me my wedding ring and let's call it a day, mkay?
All in all, I call this a success.  And will definitely be linking up again!

What's On: My Bucket List

I wrote my first Bucket List in 2010 when I was going through a health scare (an enlarged cyst on my left ovary) which had me doubting I could ever be a Mommy (said left ovary and tube were removed) as a way to heal and put my life back into perspective.

On that original List, #1 out of 100 was "have children" and Bless the Lord, he delivered 4 months later.  Two babies later, the celebration of my 29th Birthday {today!} and this link up prompt from Momfessionals, I thought it was high time to update my Bucket List!

My bucket list

There are many more items on my List but these are the Highlights if you will.  And the best part of making lists, is crossing off the accomplishments!  Here's to the promise of fulfillment.
