Classroom Tour // For the Love of Learning

When Jess and I discovered we were both going back to teaching this year we thought it would fun to share the learning that was happening in our Preschool classrooms #teachersgonnateach and this collaboration was born! Join us each month to get a peek into what we are teaching.

So onto the classroom tour! I apologize for the lack of photos as the day I was all set to photograph, I ruined my phone :/ And then it was a mad dash to get everything done, you know how that is. Not sure why some pictures look "fuzzy"- this is all kinds of embarrassing, sorry. Not month will be better, promise.

This is the room as a whole from the sink area.
The table is set for lunch time :)
I have my room set up in areas or centers- dramatic play, blocks, writing, science, books (though they are spread throughout the room) art, circle and water play. And then there are necessity ares like the restroom, sink area, closet and cubbies/parent board.

To the right of the sink is the art area which flows into circle/ books.

To the right of my chair is the science center.
And behind that is the Dramatic play area.

Across the way is the Block center.
Behind that is the Writing center. And behind that is the lunch tables. You can see it's set up for free play activities- journaling and play dough.
And looking straight ahead from the Writing center is the water table (L), the door (I'm in room 12) and the cubbies and Parent Board.
I'm still lacking some greenery and a few decorative items but I like to build slowly only getting things I truly love as most of the money comes out of my own pocket.

There you have it! Thanks for visiting my classroom! Come again soon ;)

Groupon Coupons

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own. #GrouponCoupons #ad

Can we all agree that saving money is a good thing? Amen and amen. I don't really like the use the term "cheap" or "frugal" as they tend to have negative connotations but I do appreciate the term thrifty and that's where Groupon Coupons comes in!

Groupon Coupons is such a fun site! I love the Locations feature that keeps the deals specific to my area because there's nothing more upsetting than finding a great deal and realizing it has nothing to do with you. Talk about a tease ;)

And since online shopping is pretty much my favorite thing ever, I appreciate that some of my favorite retailers like Bed Bath and Beyond, Kohls, Macy's and Nordstrom can be found on Groupon Coupons! And those are just a few of the great brands that you can save money on at Groupon Coupons.

I'm personally in the market for a new iPhone case. On Monday my water bottle wasn't closed properly and leaked all over my purse where my iPhone was residing. I have never felt so sick with dread as I realized there was water under the screen. And then the fun began; random Siri talking, FaceTime calls, and basically, the frying of my hardware (cringe). So hard lesson learned- get a really good phone case! I have my eye on this OtterBox.

What Groupon Coupons are your favorite?

Saving with Groupon Goods

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own. #Groupon #ad

Have you heard of Groupon Goods? I am probably the last person to discover this amazing deal site but now that I have, whoa nelly! It is the sister site to Groupon Coupons so all the great savings but for a more varied selection of goods! From home goods to kid's toys, to women's fashion to electronics, Groupon Goods has you covered!

Have you met Stella? She is our Cocker Spaniel- Dachshund mix that we adopted from the SPCA in May of 2014. This face and her sweet nature won us over.  She pretty much rules the house after Kinsey and Brielana (I like to think I'm not on the bottom of the totem pole, even though I do clean up after all them haha.)
I know we're not the only one's with a pampered pooch. But in all of her pampering she lacks one very important accessory, a dog bedI'm so ashamed.
She is a pretty content napper, and I have seen her get cozy on a pile of books (exhibit A above), curled up on Boppy pillow, and stretched across my bed (exhibit B below).
Now, I'm not sure if she really minds not having dog bed but a dog is assured certain rights and having one's own spot is important, agreed? And how can I deny this fur baby?
After a quick Groupon Goods search I think I found the perfect one! Now the test is to see if Stella will actually sleep on it ;)

Have you tried Groupon Goods yet? What category have you been wanting to browse?

Chambray for Fall // Whitney Wears

Another month, another Style post! Last month I shared my love of stripes and now it's all about chambray for Fall. Join Anne and Jenn for #MomStyle Remix every month and find new ways to style what you already have in your closet! Affiliate links used. A small commission may be received if you purchase an item through my links. Thank you for supporting my blog!
I've owned my Old Navy chambray top for 3 or 4 years now and absolutely love it. Its soft and comfortable and can be styled so many different ways. I'm a habitual layer-er of clothes so you've been warned.

Also something to note, I made asked Brian to take my pictures this month and it was quite the experience. God bless Instagram Husbands they are a special breed ;)

I've been dying to bring back this poncho that I got from Brian for Christmas last year. It just makes me feel so boho cool!

I've been dying to wear this LuLaRoe Amelia dress since I bought it from Courtney in July (with Family pictures in mind and yes those outfits are all planned and hanging separately) I loved seeing it styled backwards but since I'm not busty enough I had to layer, haha. I loved adding this scarf but Brian insisted I take it off. He just doesn't get my passion for scarves but since he's gifted me a couple throughout the years, he at least tolerates it ;) And isn't that scarf gorgeous?! It's from K-Mart (I was just tickled to say the least) and it only cost $9.99 but for the life of me I can't find it on their site to link it, sorry.

Last month I mentioned wanting to wear this strip boatneck over my chambray top and it turned out even cuter than I had expected. This is probably the most "Whitney" outfit of the group.

The necklace was me trying to look like a legit fashion blogger- I hardly ever wear necklaces but that empty neckline was just begging for something and I didn't hate it. Is it something I'll do in my everyday, real life, probably not (Brielana would be ripping it off and choking me out in the process) but it definitely made the outfit complete. This was also a Christmas gift from a student from my second year of teaching ever and I still remember how sweet she was and how adorable her baby brother was.
This was a surprise combination that I loved. This gorgeous floral maxi is from PinkBlush and I got it specifically to wear for Katelyn's wedding (and yes, I matched her beautiful cake.)
But it's just too pretty to only be worn once. By adding the chambray over it and knotting it it instantly becomes more casual by turning the faux wrap dress into a maxi skirt. Just pretend you don't see all those gray hairs, mkay?
