Mom Empowerment // A Collaboration {and Giveaway!}

Motherhood is a trip, isn't it? We grow and nurture our babies inside our bodies. We go through labor and delivery and then get to hold our babes in our arms for the first time. And then the world shifts and now we think not only for ourselves but also about our children. That can put a lot of stress and guilt on our plates, but we manage. And I know us moms wouldn't have it any other way:

When you feel like you can conquer the world because the baby slept the night through for the first time!

When an epic tantrum is preformed in public and through the embarrassment and shame you keep your cool and carry out your screaming child. Then let the tears fall in the safety of the car.

When you feel like crap because your child fell down and you couldn't do anything to stop it but feel responsible for their pain (like when Kinsey got her concussion. That was definitely a lower-than-low moment for me.)

When your child wins an academic award and you're bursting with pride.

These are all moments we've gone through or will be going through as our babies grow and change. I'm standing on the edge of a big milestone as Kinsey is getting enrolled into Kindergarten for the 2016-17 school year. All the feels.
For all the highs and lows and every moment in between, I just want us moms to acknowledge that we are enough for our children. For our husbands and family. And most definitely for our selves.

I know it's easy to get caught up in comparison. Or getting lost in what something seems to be not what it actually is. I know because every day there are things that bombard us as women and mothers that tells us we are less or makes us feel that way. But in the midst of negativity there is always positivity, the light will always shine through the dark.
I'm so proud to be a Mommy and share in this journey with all of you, so when Jessica asked if I would like to be a part of her Motherhood Collaboration, I just had to say yes (after feeling extremely blessed and honored.) Be sure to check out these other contributors too!

Now, on to the Giveaway!

Here is your chance to win a tee from Faith Forward Apparel. A little about the owner and creator, Krystal:

Krystal has only been designing apparel for a few years, but very sporadic and not even for a business. Just doing it for fellow friends and their teams, as Fitness Coaches.
She decided on the name for her business Faith Forward Apparel because Faith is very important to her. If you don't have faith, hope and love, then what do you have? Faith is stronger than any fear.

She opened an Etsy shop to simply start producing more of the visions she had - "I was holding back due to my very busy life as a Mom of a 4 year old little boy, a wife to my wonderful handsome husband, and a full-time Graphic Designer/Art Director as well. I thought enough is enough and it's time! So basically that is where my Faith comes back into play - I jumped in 1,000% and went for it."

She wants her shop to inspire others, to lift up those Mama's or anyone that may not feel they are Enough. Because YOU are- You are so much MORE than you think you are. Let go of all your fear, and bring in the faith, and know you are worth it!

Enter using the Rafflecopter below. Giveaway will be live from Friday, June 10th through Sunday, June 12th. Winner will be announced on Monday, June 13th. Open to US residents only. Good luck!

  1. I love everything about this post, Whitney. I always need the reminder that I, too, am enough. I'm enough for all of the roles that I play in this life.

  3. Yes, we are enough! Build each other up and offer support... It shouldn't be that hard!

  4. It is SO easy to get caught up in comparison. I do it ALL the time! And I also get down over stupid, little things that I really shouldn't stress over. That's why it's so great to have such an awesome group of mom friends, who can lift us up when we're down. Even when they don't know they're doing it. I've had really bad days and all I have to do is read some blog posts or some comments on my own blog posts, and I'm instantly lifted up by my amazing blog friends. You're a great mom, Whitney, and I'm happy to call you my friend!

  5. I love how you paired the high moments right with the low moments because that is such an accurate portrayal of motherhood! Beautifully said! We are so lucky to have such a strong community!

  6. There are definitely high and low points in mommyhood. I love this concept and what it reminds us to do. We are enough and being a mommy is hard, but so rewarding.

    1. OH and what I do to remind myself that I am enough, I look at my children and see how happy, healthy and well adjusted they are, and what I think is a complete failure they just see me and how much the love me...

  10. First of all, that picture of you and your girls is precious. Brielana looks JUST like you!!!:) So glad to have been part of this motherhood collaboration with such a sweet, strong group of women. Motherhood is definitely a journey - an amazing one, yes, but I think we can all admit we've had the tears in the car moment (many, many times in my case!) and if we could all make more of an effort to support one another instead of tear down, I think the journey could be that much more amazing!

  12. What a great post! I remind myself that I'm not perfect... and no one is. God made me the mom of my boys for a reason.

  13. This is an amazing post!!! And came at the perfect time. I've been feeling like SUCH a failure lately. I have all my balls in the air and I'm not doing anything well at all. At least that's how I feel. I have a to do list a mile long and while I should be doing it now, I am reading blogs (lol - go figure - priorities) but I feel like this is on my to do list too because I'm like 2 weeks behind! But just when I feel like I can't catch a break, I see Mason and he runs up to me and shouts "mommy!" and gives me a huge hug and kiss and says "I luh you mommy" and I immediately feel like I must be doing something right!

  14. This was a great post. Ups and downs, highs and lows. Remembering all of those same moments for myself and looking forward to some of the ones you mentioned- we have to remind each other that we are enough!! You are doing an awesome job, friend!

  15. Yes!! Motherhood has such highs and lows. As Longmont as the highs outweigh the lows it's a success. Some days are better than others and that's okay. If we stop judging and comparing ourselves to others and just support it would be such a better place. I'm so thankful you are a part of my tribe!

  16. I think about everything i have done in my life to know that I am enough(:

  17. Wow - all this & more. The ups & downs of motherhood can be exhausting. Why is it that when we feel good about something, we quickly compare ourselves to others and then suddenly feel inadequate?
When I find myself doing this (like right now, in the throws of high school awards, graduations & parties), I have to slip away & give myself time to regroup, pray & meditate.
Usually works. And if it doesn't, a big hug my kids and husband seems to make it better!

  18. Such a beautiful and necessary reminder! Some days it's so easy to get caught in the rabbit hole of comparisons! And, the rollercoaster of feelings and emotions that only motherhood can bring. It's all such a trip.
Thanks for such a powerful and raw post!
