The week between Christmas and New Year is one of my favorite times of the year. It is a time where I reflect, renew and recharge; putting to bed Christmas, preparing for the New Year, getting myself into the right frame of mind.
I take this week to clean house; literally and figuratively. I "clean up" my mental state and tidy up loose ends before stepping into the new year. This is also the time I pick out my new Word of the Year (coming soon!)
A lot of self care is fulfilled during this time and I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you how I give myself the gift of little luxuries.
The whole point of "little luxuries" is the simplicity of the act. I don't have much time to spare for big rituals when it comes to pampering myself so I find small, intentional indulgences that pack a big punch.
My easy check list of little luxuries include:

Now I admit, this is in the category of "treat yo self" but it isn't often that I indulge in jewelry; sometimes it just feels right. I was recently introduced to Au Rate which offers some of the prettiest jewelry around. From big statement pieces to modest, modern gold earrings, your next pretty bauble can be found here! I absolutely fell in love (lust? haha) with these rose gold studs. I also really admire their mission of offering sustainable, ethically handmade jewelry at affordable prices.
I have a newly discovered soft spot for athleisure wear. This sweatshirt is from Stitch Fix and it is by far the softest thing I own. I reach for this when I need to feel extra comfy or just want to lounge around at home.
Knitted socks and slippers are probably my constant companions (next to my kiddos, of course!) Nothing says "relaxed" like pampered feet.
I'm a tea/coffee/cocoa/cider drinker so fill my mug up with a warm beverage and call me good. The cold weather has nothing on my cup of cheer!
Finding a few minutes of quiet = book reading time. I do the GoodReads Book Challenge every year and pledged to read 40 books in 2019. I'm currently enjoying Second Glance by Jodi Picoult (number 39 of the year, in case you were interested ;)
Clean beauty is having a wonderful moment and thanks to Beautycounter it is here to stay. I love the Counter+ charcoal mask and use it as a spot treatment on pesky pimples. It smells like peppermint (so festive!) and is gentle on my skin but tough on acne.
Bonus points- If I have my diffuser running its like the cherry on top! I've been on a Plant Therapy Frankincense kick lately for its grounding and comforting vibes.
How do you give yourself little luxuries? I'm always on the hunt for adding in new self care possibilities. Please share!
