It took me extra long to think of my Word of the Year for 2021. There was just so much to process and digest from last year that sorting through all of it was more work than in previous years (and I know you get exactly what I mean by that.)

A Year in Review + Top 5 Posts of 2020
This year has been something else. We all lived it and we all have our stories to share. I was not the best blogger this year as it just felt like a chore to add-on to already long days. Brian and I both lost family members. Emotions have been everywhere and nowhere. I come back to this space because it is mine and finding solace in its digital pages feels right, right now.

DIY Pomander Balls // Deck the Halls {Christmas craft}
Show of hands, who's done decorating for Christmas? If you're like me than you've just begun, haha. In the spirit of holiday crafting, I'm so excited to introduce you to today's guest poster, my kindred spirit, Dana. When I need my eco-conscious questions answered, she's my go-to. Everyone needs a Dana in their lives. She agreed to share an easy, low-waste DIY holiday craft for orange and clove pomander balls!

Garbanzo bean salad // flavors of the season {family recipe}
This garbanzo bean salad is one of those easy-peasy recipes that just came together by itself. It combines the fresh flavors of cucumber, cherry tomatoes and green onion while the beans add protein and bulk. Make this while you still have all those fresh summer veggies available! I promise you won't regret it.

5 ways I'm prioritizing my health right now
Quarantine weight gain has made itself known at my house. I have noticed my jeans feeling a bit snug. Not shut-in related but a contributing factor of said weight gain is also the horribly hot weather- we haven't been doing regular neighborhood walks and it just seems everything is adding together to put me in a mood. Instead of feeling sorry for myself (anymore lol) I decided to take action. Here's what's been helping me ditch the blues and feel empowered instead of complacent.

Now that summer is starting to come to a close I can finally start getting back into a better blogging routine. Once those warmer temps start moving in I basically become a vegetable. I hate it. With the cooler weather comes more energy for me by way of nature walks and the changing of the leaves (not to mention cuter clothes!) Joining Anne for her Currently link up. Affiliate links used. School at Home
The first three weeks of August we were quietly homeschooling. It was never really something I had ever planned on doing but with the start date of school being pushed back I felt I needed to DO SOMETHING.
