25 Christmas Books for Children {The Great Christmas Roundup}

I am beyond blessed to be joining hands with Crystal, Liz, Justine and Stephanie for The Great Christmas Roundup! Not only do I adore these ladies but being able to celebrate this special season is an honor I don't want to ever take lightly or for granted.

I'm sharing our favorite 25 Christmas Books for Children. All of these are titles I love and that Kinsey and Brielana both enjoy. Some are classics, some are specific to this year, some are faith-based and some are whimsical but they are all great books to add your child's library. Enjoy! Affiliate links used. 25 Christmas books for Children
In no particular order:

The Night Before Christmas- this title has to end our book Advent Calendar. This version is the one I grew up reading and still cherish.
Santa & the Christ Child- keeping the reason for the season in focus.
A Charlie Brown Christmas (Peanuts)- we ADORE the Peanuts Gang here.
You Are My Miracle- sweetest book ever.
Jingle Bells- the classic song turned book.
The Velveteen Rabbit- who doesn't get touched by this story of love?
Christmas Tree!- this rhyming book is awesome.
The Little Drummer Boy- Keats has soul-stirring illustrations.
The Gingerbread Boy- another one of my childhood favorites.
Christmas Trolls- Brett has the best illustrations! I also like the original Mountain Trolls version.
Olivia Helps with Christmas- the sassiest pig I know.
Peppa's Christmas Wish- the sweetest pig I know (lol).
Polar Express 30th anniversary edition- again these illustrations are wonderful.
The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition Book Only- we're having our inaugural Elf visit and I need to study up ;)
How the Grinch Stole Christmas!- You can't celebrate the season without that grumpy green guy.
God Gave Us Christmas- I adore this God Gave Us Series. A bit on the wordy side I would say this is for older children 4+.
The Nutcracker- the classic ballet.
Olive, the Other Reindeer- the cartoon is sweet too! Olive is voiced by Drew Barrymore.
And if you do a Christmas Book Advent Calendar these would be great titles to include! Here's our wrapped books all ready to go!

  1. Love this! We have so many Christmas books that they fill two baskets. Ha ha! And I just keep adding. I just bought There was an old lady who swallowed a bell and it's adorable. We love Pete the Cat Saves Christmas and Click Clack Ho Ho Ho. Books are the best!

  2. Great choices! Our Elf just brought Little Blue Truck Christmas. So I may have a silly question, do you purchase 25 NEW books every year or are these ones you already own?

  3. Aaaahhhh, this is the first year in 4 years that I won't be doing the wrapped books :(. It kind of makes me a teensy bit sad, but we've just outgrown the tradition (as much as that pains me to say). I am just going to display our basket of books on the 1st unwrapped.

  4. I love these books! Such a great collection of titles. Most of these I've read many times with my own littles, but a couple are new to me. :) Thanks so much for participating Whitney!

  8. SO. MANY. GREAT. BOOKS!!! Our Elf on the Shelf delivers a different holiday book each time he visits, and The Night Before Christmas is always his last book! Our elf has never delivered There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bell, but we have another There Was an Old Lady Book, and I think the Bell version would be a mighty fine addition the the elf's collection!

  9. So many of these we don't have! I am going to need to make a run to the library and stock up on some new to us books so we can read all things Christmas this month.
