The numbers are in! My Year in Books for 2022 was 42 total books read! I had pledged to read 30 titles and hit that goal back in the summer. Anything after that was just the cherry on top!

Summer 2022 Bucket list

We've been enjoying summer vacation for exactly a week now, how about you? In summer's past, I had activities planned every day of the week, for three months straight. It has been a hot minute since the last time I shared a book roundup and even though reading is one of my favorite things ever, organizing those posts takes forever, hence the non sharing. But a yearly post? That I can do! Here's a glimpse at my 2021 reading life, a few favorite titles, what to pass on (in my opinion) and some surprise twists.

We had a slight dusting of snow recently and it was the catalyst for our new homeschool unit. Preschool activities have been very seasonally focused this school year and I find it keeps us attuned to nature in a deeper way.

After spending the majority of 2021 intrinsically intuned while growing Laurel, I want to turn my attention externally and engage more with others; be that through texts, phone calls, written letters or in-person meet ups, being connected (again) is what I'm craving.

Visiting the Aquarium on the Boardwalk in Branson, MO

On our third day of vacation in Branson (my true love gave to me... hehe) we explored the newly opened Aquarium at the Boardwalk. Home to 7,200 sea animals and 250 different species, this aquarium holds more than 400,000 gallons of salt water, with 9 different viewing galleries. As aquarium connoisseurs we have been missing the experience more than I can express! This was just what we needed.
