Chambray for Fall // Whitney Wears

Another month, another Style post! Last month I shared my love of stripes and now it's all about chambray for Fall. I've owned my Old Navy chambray top for 3 or 4 years now and absolutely love it. Its soft and comfortable and can be styled so many different ways. I'm a habitual layer-er of clothes so you've been warned.

Also something to note, I made asked Brian to take my pictures this month and it was quite the experience. God bless Instagram Husbands they are a special breed ;)

I've been dying to bring back this poncho that I got from Brian for Christmas last year. It just makes me feel so boho cool!

I've been dying to wear this LuLaRoe Amelia dress since I bought it from Courtney in July (with Family pictures in mind and yes those outfits are all planned and hanging separately) I loved seeing it styled backwards but since I'm not busty enough I had to layer, haha. I loved adding this scarf but Brian insisted I take it off. He just doesn't get my passion for scarves but since he's gifted me a couple throughout the years, he at least tolerates it ;) And isn't that scarf gorgeous?! It's from K-Mart (I was just tickled to say the least) and it only cost $9.99 but for the life of me I can't find it on their site to link it, sorry.

Last month I mentioned wanting to wear this strip boatneck over my chambray top and it turned out even cuter than I had expected. This is probably the most "Whitney" outfit of the group.

The necklace was me trying to look like a legit fashion blogger- I hardly ever wear necklaces but that empty neckline was just begging for something and I didn't hate it. Is it something I'll do in my everyday, real life, probably not (Brielana would be ripping it off and choking me out in the process) but it definitely made the outfit complete. This was also a Christmas gift from a student from my second year of teaching ever and I still remember how sweet she was and how adorable her baby brother was.
This was a surprise combination that I loved. This gorgeous floral maxi is from PinkBlush and I got it specifically to wear for Katelyn's wedding (and yes, I matched her beautiful cake.)
But it's just too pretty to only be worn once. By adding the chambray over it and knotting it it instantly becomes more casual by turning the faux wrap dress into a maxi skirt. Just pretend you don't see all those gray hairs, mkay?

  3. OMG I love all these outfits! First I thought the poncho was my favorite, then the striped boat neck, but that floral skirt is so beautiful! You are a layering genius!

  4. You are so skinny, lady!! Everything looks so great on you and I adore each of these four outfits!! That poncho is to-die for, but my most favorite is the floral dress with chambray over it! Agree or not, these outfits make you look like a legit fashion blogger--and they make me want to recreate each and every one of them!!

  5. Gorgeous friend! I love every single one of these. I have yet to find a chambray that I absolutely love. How do you battle the layering and feeling like it's just bulky? Love that you put the dress backwards, I think I need to buy one of those dresses too. I've heard such great things about them.

  10. Love the different ways you styled the shirt - I think my two faves are the "Whitney" outfit (with the boatneck striped shirt - WHY don't i own one of those) and the floral skirt.

  11. Love all these looks!! The floral maxi is my fave. And I totally agree with the scariness of necklaces & toddlers. Declan has already broken two, so I guess lesson learned.

  12. You are so cute! And Brielana is your twin (I majorly see it in that 2nd picture). Isn’t chambray the best? And can we talk about how amazing that poncho is? I love it! And girl, that purple looks so good on you. I think that may be your color. Oooh, I didn’t see that floral maxi when I was shopping their site last week. It’s perfection. I love it with the chambray top. Great post!!

  14. Love all the layering you've shown here especially - under a dress is one I don't remember very often but should, and under stripes is a long-time favorite. So cute - thanks for remixing with us!
